Some superfans have highlighted the use of fuel shortages as a flawed plotpoint in the latest movie in the Star Wars franchise. Apparently interstellar fuel is a bugbear for people as it’s rarely alluded to within the movies. But it plays into the most awesomely-creative version of the “Blow up the Death Star” type setpieces since Return of the Jedi.
Writer-director Rian Johnson’s movie does not fully exploit this element, choosing instead to focus on character and politics (in a less clumsy way than was handled in Lucas’s prequel movies).
Not much else to say beyond the possibility of spoiling the movie here for those few who have yet to see it.
May the Force be with you et cetera.
